In his final year of a Bachelor of Management degree, Affan worked full time as he completed his studies as a finance major at uLethbridge’s Calgary Campus. .

"It's been really helpful that courses are in the evenings or weekends, as it's allowed me to keep working full time," Affan said when asked why he chose the Calgary Campus.

He attributed planning out his entire program in the first year as a big part of his success. "Start by figuring out what days of the week will work for you and plan out all your courses in the first year to make sure you get in all the courses you want when you want them!"

The two biggest take-aways from his degree experience were:

    ·      Making great connections with professors and advisors. He found the advisors really easy to connect with and very helpful in managing his program planning.

    ·      Amazing co-op coordinators that helped guide his planning and even assisted with scholarship applications.

So how has COVID-19 has affected his studying over the last year?

“It’s not been that big of a change for me as so many of our exams were already online. I found the transition to online learning really smooth,” he said.

“I think (uLethbridge’s Calgary Campus) is a good school and convenient in the core of the city. I would really recommend it for people who prefer night school.”

Affan is looking to expand his career opportunities in the spring after graduation.
